James O’Sullivan, a member of Greystones Town Council, has formally congratulated Kathleen Kelleher on becoming the new Mayor of Greystones for 2012/2013. Kelleher takes over from Tom Fortune who was Mayor for the past twelve months.
Speaking in the Council Chamber after Kelleher took over the Chair, Councillor O’Sullivan said, “I don’t think there is anyone in this room more deserving of being Mayor than Kathleen. She has served as an elected member since 1999 and I’m glad her time has finally come to be Mayor.”
O’Sullivan stated, “Since being elected three years ago, I’ve worked on a number of important issues both inside and outside the Chamber with Kathleen. The wealth of experience she brings to the role will no doubt enhance the position.”
“I know Cllr. Kelleher will prove to be an excellent Mayor for the people of Greystones in the coming twelve months”, concluded Councillor O’Sullivan.
